A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words (AND some great coverage, too)

OK, so you've written the killer press release, got great individual pitches for individual media outlets, got a great media list...what are you missing? PICTURES! Why in the world would you lessen your chances of coverage by sending a bunch of words without visuals to give that writer a great visual story to work with?

A picture is definitely worth a thousand words, and even a few media placements. No matter what industry you are in, you should definitely send high quality, high resolution photographs. Head shots, band shots, product shots, etc. are all great types of photos to use when pitching a potential story to a writer. And, even if you don't already have a great photo, give that writer some ideas about quality photo opportunities, like performances, trade shows, client interaction, etc. Finally, for you event mavens out there, ALWAYS...ALWAYS...ALWAYS take pictures of EVERY event, just in case the writer wants pictures of previous year's events.

These are just my thoughts. What do you think?
